Moose In Wine Sauce
Ingredients:
2 lb.
Round Moose Steak
1/2 tsp.
Salt
2 tbsp. Lemon
Juice
1/2 Cup Oil
1 clove Garlic,
Mashed
1 can Mushrooms, plus liquid
1/2 tsp.
Pepper
1 cup Red Wine
3 tbsp. Flour
Instructions:
Cut steak into bite size pieces. Thoroughly mix Garlic, Salt, Pepper, Lemon
Juice, 1/2 cup Red Wine and Oil in a glass bowl. Marinate steak for 3 hours.
Heat margarine in deep skillet. Remove meat from marinade ( reserve rest of
marinade ) and brown on all sides. Add liquid from mushrooms and rest of
marinade and enough water to just cover meat. Cover pan and simmer about 1 hour
until meat is tender, adding more water as needed. Mix flour and other 1/2 cup
of Red Wine together until smooth. Add this to slowly meat mixture, stirring
until sauce is smooth and thickened.
